The Hurun Global Unicorn Index 2026, released on June 25, features a total of 1,603 unicorns worldwide. China ranks second globally with 381 such enterprises. Two Changsha-based firms — Sany Heavy Truck and CNGR New Energy — have made the list. Artificial intelligence and fintech top all industrial sectors. Meanwhile, Chinese unicorns are expanding at a faster pace, with innovation concentrated in new energy and semiconductors.
