From late 2025 to January 2026, Chinese medical experts led by ophthalmologists from The Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University carried out the Brightness Action Initiative in The Bahamas. Working alongside Princess Margaret Hospital, the team completed more than 200 cataract surgeries and delivered clinical training and case seminars, earning high recognition from the Government of The Bahamas.

2025年末至2026年1月，由中南大学湘雅二医院眼科专家带队的中国“光明行”医疗队奔赴巴哈马，与当地玛格丽特公主医院协作，完成200余例白内障复明手术，同时开展临床示教、病例研讨，项目得到巴哈马政府高度赞誉。

At the end of October 2026, a 22‑member Bahamian medical delegation made a return visit to the hospital’s ophthalmology department. Delegates toured eye clinics, examination suites and operating theatres. They held in‑depth discussions covering cataract and retinal surgery, peri-operativemanagement, instrument sterilization and hospital administration.

2026年10月底，巴哈马22人医疗代表团专程回访湘雅二医院眼科。代表团参观眼科门诊、特检室与手术室，围绕白内障、视网膜疾病手术、围手术期管理、器械消毒供应、医院运营管理开展座谈研讨。

This two‑way exchange carries forward the friendship forged by the Brightness Action Initiative. It builds a solid platform for mutual learning between the two countries’ healthcare systems and enriches practical China‑Bahamas health‑sector cooperation.

这次双向互访延续“光明行”缔结下的深厚情谊，搭建起两国医疗体系、临床专科经验互鉴的坚实平台，不断丰富中国与巴哈马卫生健康领域务实合作。
